Digugu lan Ditiru is a short film directed by Resa Rantianingsih. The cast of the film are Mr. Andriyanto as the main character, Mr. Wahyu Budi Nugroho, Mr. Pedro Wicaksono, and Prio Pambudi. The film was made in 2015. The film takes the theme of teacher behavior thet can be imitated by students.
The story begins when a male teacher (Mr. Andriyanto), doesn’t teach his students well. He only asks students to read and do assignment. He is busy playing with his smartphone while his students work on the assignment that given by him. He is busy with his smartphone, as if his smartphone is the source of his life. He also left His responsibility to teach, by eating in the cafetaria when the bell rang.
The problem reaches its peak when the teacher gets the schedule to teach in class. As, usual, he only gives assignment to students. He writes on the board, asking students to read several pages of the book. After that, he comes out of the classroom and calls someone. It looks like he calls that person as ‘boss’.
When he is still on the phone with his boss, accidentally, he sees another teacher (Mr. Wahyu Budi Nugroho), who is teaching his students, they are discussing the material. Not only giving material, he also advises his students that the good teacher must be a role model and his behavior can be imitated.
Instantly, the teacher cuts off his phone call. He realizes that what he had been doing was wrong. The way he teaches as a teacher is completely wrong. He feels bad because he can’t be a good teacher, a teacher who can be a role model for his students. Therefore, to correct his mistakes, he returns to the class he was supposed to teaching. From that day on, he teaches in earnest, like a teacher in general, teaching material well. Being a good teacher, a teacher whose behavior can imitated by his students.
Digugu lan Ditiru contains very high moral values. This film gives the meaning that being a teacher must behave properly because it is useD as an example by students. The teacher figure played by Mr. Andriyanto is very succesful. He is better when playing a role in this film than when playing a role in 1 Liter. Maybe, it is because Mr. Andriyanto is a teacher. So, he can deepen in his character so well.
Overall, Digugu lan Ditiru is a very good film. This film is suitable for people who work as a teacher or someone who aspire to become a teacher. This film won the 2nd place in the 2015 Short Film District FLS2N. So, watching Digugu lan Ditiru will not waste time, but we will get benefit greatly.
